SAVE YOUR VALUABLE TIME! LET SGS MID-WEST SEEDS PROCESS YOUR SHAKEOUTS
SGS Mid-West Seed Services, Inc. (SGS MWSS) continues to offer quick, accurate, same day service on bulk field harvest samples sent to our Shakeout Laboratory. Our laboratory can process approximately 30 field bulk samples per day (depending on seed quality) and provide you with easily accessible website results. All shakeout samples are treated and tests started within 48 hours of receipt.
If there are quality issues associated with your bulk corn or specific lots, you can also request a pre-scalp color sort on the bulk sample along with a digital photo of your sorted seed including the scalped portion. Sized seed can also be color sorted depending on your needs. Both the color sort results and digital photo are available on our website (see photo example).
Packaging of samples for small grow-out plots can be accomplished after the shakeout, saving you valuable time and reducing chances for errors. If this service fits your needs or you wish to reduce the amount of time and labor associated with shaking your own corn, please give us a call to discuss pricing. Details of the shakeout process, size of samples to submit and an example of our shakeout report follow below.
